eIDAS 2.0 compliant by design

Starting in Cologne.Onboarded from the wallet.

Louise has a one-person business in Utrecht and starts a two-year assignment at Bundesanzeiger Verlag in Cologne. This playground puts her Personal ID in your wallet. Her business wallet already holds the proofs of Studio Navia; with the liability policy from Meridiaan and the A1 declaration from the SVB she onboards at Bundesanzeiger in minutes, without forms or copies.

How this works

Three roles, two protocols

Everything on this page follows the European Digital Identity standards. The terminology below is the same you will find in the specifications, so you can map what you see to what you read.

Issuer

The party that states something about you and signs it. Here there are several: we issue Louise's Personal ID, Meridiaan her liability policy, the SVB her A1 declaration and Bundesanzeiger the contract partner credential.

Holder

You. Your credentials live in your wallet on your phone, not in our database. You decide each time whether to share, and what.

Verifier

The party that asks for proof. Bundesanzeiger is the verifier: it checks that Studio Navia is real, that Louise may act for it, and that the A1 declaration belongs to the same business.

Issuance: OpenID4VCI

You scan a credential offer. Your wallet fetches the credential from the issuer and stores it, cryptographically bound to a key that only your phone holds.

Presentation: OpenID4VP

A verifier sends a query describing what it needs. Your wallet shows you the request, and only what you approve is sent back, signed.

Why the verifier learns less than you might expect

Credentials in SD-JWT VC format support selective disclosure. Bundesanzeiger asks for what onboarding a contract partner needs, not for everything in the wallets. Your wallet shows each request and shares only that, and what it shares is still verifiably signed by the issuer.

Next step

Step 1

Use a compatible EUDI wallet

You need a wallet app to receive and share credentials. Any wallet that speaks OpenID4VCI and OpenID4VP can hold them, but it also has to accept credentials from an issuer it does not know yet, and not every wallet does.

Step 2

Issue your test credentials

Scan the QR code with your wallet to receive the Personal ID. The data is fictional: you are receiving Louise's Personal ID, so nothing about you is stored anywhere.

Your credentials

0 / 1

Personal ID (SD-JWT VC)

Issue the Personal ID first: it is what Louise's personal wallet proves about her.

Personal ID (SD-JWT VC)

Louise's name, date of birth, nationality and address. It shows who she is, next to the proofs of Studio Navia in her business wallet.

Step 3

Use the credentials for real

Issuing a credential is only half the story. Meridiaan, the SVB and Bundesanzeiger are live portals; together they take Louise from her business wallet to contract partner.

Louise joins Bundesanzeiger Verlag

Working in Cologne

bundesanzeiger.acc.credenco.com

Louise runs Studio Navia, a one-person business in Utrecht, and starts a two-year assignment at Bundesanzeiger Verlag in Cologne. Before she starts, Cologne wants to know who she is, that her business is real, that her social security stays in the Netherlands and that she is insured. In this demo you are Louise: your personal wallet holds her Personal ID, and her business wallet holds the proofs of Studio Navia.

What happens next

1

Get Louise's Personal ID

Issue the Personal ID above and store it in the wallet app on your phone. That personal wallet shows who Louise is; the proofs of her business live in the business wallet.

2

Have Studio Navia's business wallet ready

Louise already has a business wallet for Studio Navia, holding its company registration (EUCC), the EBWOID, the VAT ID and the IBAN. Want to try it yourself? Ask Credenco for the account details of the demo business wallet.

3

Collect the liability policy at Meridiaan

Once only: sign in at meridiaan.acc.credenco.com and collect Studio Navia's professional liability policy into the business wallet.

4

Get the A1 declaration from the SVB

At svb.acc.credenco.com Louise signs in, shares Studio Navia's registration and receives the A1 declaration in the wallet she shared the registration from: while she works in Germany, her social security stays in the Netherlands.

5

Onboard at Bundesanzeiger

Open the onboarding at bundesanzeiger.acc.credenco.com, without an account or password. First share the company proofs from Studio Navia's business wallet, then the A1 declaration from the wallet that received it.

6

Receive the contract partner credential

Bundesanzeiger checks the proofs and issues a contract partner credential, valid for the two years of the assignment. It lands in your wallet, next to the other proofs.

Issue the Personal ID first

You are missing Personal ID (SD-JWT VC). You can continue, but Louise's personal wallet is not complete without it.

If something goes wrong

  • "No credentials available" at Bundesanzeiger means a proof is missing from the wallet you are sharing from: a company proof in the business wallet, or the A1 declaration. Collect the missing one at Meridiaan or the SVB and try again.
  • If an onboarding stops halfway, start again from the Bundesanzeiger home page instead of reloading a page you already scanned into: every attempt gets its own code.
